Could We Wear the Ocean?

Could We Wear the Ocean?

Could we wear the ocean?

Our connection to the ocean has always been at the heart of SP.

It shapes how we think about movement and stillness, effort and recovery, and the balance between the two. But what if that connection could run through the very fabric we wear?

As we develop Tide Line - our first move into womenswear - we’ve been exploring the potential of seaweed-based fibres.

The idea is compelling: creating a style inspired by the ocean using a material that originates there. Not simply borrowing the language or colours of the coastline, but allowing the ocean to become part of the product itself!

Starting with one product

Rather than rushing to create an entire collection, we’re considering beginning with a single, distinctive piece: an exceptionally comfortable crew made using seaweed-based fabric.

The ambition is to create something soft, versatile and beautifully made - designed to move between coast and city, activity and recovery. A product that feels unmistakably SP, but introduces a new expression of the brand.

There is still plenty to explore. How does the fabric feel and perform? How should it be blended? How will it wear over time? Can it deliver the quality, comfort and longevity we expect from an SP product?

Grown by the ocean

Tide Line is shaped around the natural rhythm of the sea: ebb and flow, movement and stillness.

There is something special about the possibility that its first product could also be woven from it.

This is only the beginning - we’ll share the materials, samples and decisions behind the product as it develops.

Tide Line. Shaped by the ocean. Grown from it.
